Debra Stracke Anderson, President of Sloan Street Advisors / ITRA Global, a commercial real estate firm based in the Washington, D.C. region, has been named one of the 2014 ‘Influential Women of Virginia’ by Virginia Lawyers Media, publishers of Virginia Lawyers Weekly and the Virginia Medical Law Report.
This awards program, now in its sixth year, recognizes the outstanding efforts of women in the commonwealth in all fields, including law, business, health care, education and the arts. The honors are given to individuals who are making notable contributions to their chosen professions, their communities and society at large. The honorees will be celebrated at a gala ceremony on May 22 at the Hilton Short Pump in Henrico, Virginia. The ‘Influential Woman of the Year’ for 2014, to be voted on by the members of the Class of 2014 themselves, will be announced at this event. Each honoree also will be profiled in a special publication that will be distributed at the event and inserted into Virginia Lawyers Weekly on May 26.
Ms. Anderson founded Sloan Street Advisors in 2000. Her company represents corporate users of office, industrial and retail properties in the District of Columbia and its suburbs, in addition to representing clients on an international basis. The firm is also the Washington, D.C. affiliate for ITRA Global, one of the largest commercial real estate organizations devoted exclusively to representing corporate tenants and buyers.
Ms. Anderson is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Real Estate (SIOR) and has earned the SIOR designation, for which only a small percentage of professionals have qualified. She is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member of the CCIM Institute, where she earned the CCIM designation, denoting a graduate level education in commercial real estate investment. She has been recognized by the Washington Business Journal and the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal for major lease transactions and was selected one of the ‘Top Real Estate Professionals’ in the Mid-Atlantic region by a 2013 readership poll organized by SmartCEO magazine. She was also recently highlighted as an ‘Industry Legend’ in Real Estate Forum’s 20th Anniversary Special Edition. Ms. Anderson has served for several years with the Board of Directors of ITRA Global, including two historic terms as the first woman Chairman. She has also served on the board of directors for several organizations that work to improve the lives of at-risk children.
