During its Fall 2014 Conference held at Salt Lake City, Utah, ITRA Global hosted a CEO guest panel consisting of top corporate executives who shared why they chose Utah when making their site selection and business expansion decisions. The panel was moderated by Theresa Foxley, Managing Director, Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development and included Vance Checketts, Vice President of Utah Operations for EMC Corporation, Dannette Crooms, Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs for Edwards Lifesciences, and Charles K. Taylor, President of Syberjet Aircraft. The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, as the premier VIP Sponsor of the ITRA Global conference, organized the panel.

The event was attended by top executives and decision-makers of ITRA Global, who influence the site selection decisions of hundreds of companies around the world. Mylinda Vick, ITRA Global’s Chairman and principal of Cherry & Associates / ITRA Global in Nashville stated “the conference provided the perfect opportunity for ITRA Global affiliates to learn why Utah has been ranked as The Top Pro-Business State for several years in a row.”

According to Dr. Ronald R. Pollina, Chairman Emeritus of ITRA Global and President of Chicago-based ITRA / Pollina Corporate Real Estate, Inc. and publisher of the Pollina Corporate Top 10 Pro-Business States Report published yearly, says “Utah has held the top position for the third year in a row. In 2005, Utah ranked #23 and by 2012 it ranked #1, moving up in rank 22 places in only seven years.” He continued, “Utah is a great example of what enlightened and motivated political leadership can accomplish with a solid plan.”

“Cultivating an environment where businesses can thrive has been a major part of Utah’s economic success,” said Gov. Gary R. Herbert. “I am proud of the hard work being done by the private and public sectors in partnership that has resulted in Utah again being recognized as a leading state for sensible regulations, low taxes and transparency.”
